My name is Therese, 26 y/o, and a medical intern in one of Miami’s top health institutions. I was born in Prague, Czech Republic where I also spent my childhood and teenage years. My family sent me to the Philippines to study B.S. Nursing at the age of 19; and after I completed my degree, I went back to Prague where I pursued to study medicine. 

After my clerkship program in Prague, I signed up and applied for a medical internship in Miami. It was a rigorous process but I managed to complete all the requirements and to pass the nerve-wracking panel interview. As of the present time, I’m enjoying my independence in this new city which I refer to as my “second home”.

I opened this blog in the hope that I would be able to share with you my journey towards becoming a doctor and the challenges that I would encounter along the way. I would also like to share with you stories and snippets about my family life and formative years in Prague, my college years in the Philippines, and my medical internship here in Miami. I believe that all these elements and phases in my life are contributing factors to what I would become in the future. 

I am hoping that you could follow me on my journey. Again, I’m Therese, an intern now and a medical doctor in the future.
